McKenney Home Care is a family-owned, private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County for over a decade. We are seeking dependable, compassionate caregivers who are committed to providing high-quality, one-on-one care in the home.

Flexible Scheduling
We offer a variety of shift options to fit your availability, including:
- Morning shifts: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Short or split shifts: 2–3 hours (AM or PM)
- Standard shifts: 4–6 hours
- Extended shifts: 7–12 hours (day or overnight) *12-hour day and overnight shifts are widely available
Private duty schedules vary based on client needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one care that helps clients feel safe, comfortable, and supported in their own homes
- Build meaningful relationships through companionship, conversation, and emotional support
- Assist with daily routines such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and safe mobility
- Prepare meals and encourage proper nutrition and hydration
- Support clients with memory care needs, including those with dementia
- Maintain a clean and comfortable environment with light housekeeping and laundry
- Provide medication reminders (no administration required)
- Observe and report any changes in client condition to office
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate proactively with the office and care team regarding schedule or client updates
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Second form of ID (Social Security card or passport)
- Hands-on CPR certification (or willingness to obtain; class available)
- TB test within 6 months or chest X-ray within 5 years
- Level 2 AHCA background screening (or willingness to obtain) https://info.flclearinghouse.com
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and consistent reliability and attendance
