McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. We are seeking Florida-licensed LPNs and RNs for PRN nursing opportunities in clients’ homes.
This role may be a good fit for nurses who enjoy one-on-one care, are comfortable working independently, and value support from an office and nursing team.
Schedule & Availability
PRN scheduling is based on current client needs and may include:
- Day visits
- Evening visits
- Overnight shifts
- Weekend availability
- Short skilled nursing visits
- Recurring case assignments when available
Schedules may vary based on client needs, nurse availability, location, and case requirements. Hours cannot be guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care in the client’s home according to the established plan of care
- Assess and monitor client condition
- Report changes, concerns, or significant findings promptly
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Support clients with chronic conditions, post-hospital needs, and ongoing nursing needs
- Provide client and family education related to care and safety
- Communicate with physicians, families, and members of the care team as appropriate
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the WellSky app
- Follow agency policies, nursing direction, and client-specific care plans
- Communicate with the office regarding patient status, scheduling, and care concerns
Qualifications
- Active Florida LPN or RN license in good standing
- Home care, private duty, hospice, hospital, or related nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and observation skills
- Ability to work independently in a private home setting
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Auto Insurance
- Reliable Transportation
- Current hands-on CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- TB test, PPD, or lab screening within the required timeframe, or qualifying chest X-ray
- Eligibility for Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete the required screening: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
- Ability to communicate clearly and complete required documentation
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
