McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Sarasota and Charlotte County. Through our Venice office, we are looking for dependable Caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs who value individualized care and helping clients remain safe and supported in their own homes.
What’s Available
Opportunities may include:
- Full-Time
- Part-Time
- PRN / As Needed
- Morning shifts such as 8:00 AM–12:00 PM, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, or 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Short or split shifts of approximately 2–3 hours
- Standard 4–6 hour shifts
- Extended 7–12 hour day or overnight shifts
Private-duty schedules are based on current client needs, caregiver availability, location, and experience. Hours and schedules may vary and cannot be guaranteed.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and other activities of daily living
- Provide companionship, conversation, and meaningful activities
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed
- Follow dietary instructions included in the client’s care plan
- Provide medication reminders and observe and report changes in condition
- Help with light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and general tidying
- Provide transportation for errands or appointments when included in the care plan
- Follow individualized care plans and direction from supervisors or nursing staff
- Complete required documentation using the WellSky app
What You’ll Need to Complete Onboarding
- Valid driver’s license
- Current auto insurance with you listed as an allowed driver
- Reliable transportation
- Hands-on CPR certification — online-only CPR is not accepted
- TB screening within the required timeframe or qualifying chest X-ray
- Level 2 AHCA background screening: https://info.flclearinghouse.com
- Ability to communicate clearly and complete required documentation
- Dependable attendance and professional conduct
HHA certification, Florida CNA licensure, or previous professional caregiving experience is welcomed but not required.
